SciFi and Fantasy Art: Death

Twin to the goddess of life (and continuing my 'series' of elven gods and goddesses) his hair is red to represent blood just as his sister's is - after all, blood can mean life or death, right? While I was designing his 'look' I decided that from now on, for me, elves will only bind their hair like this when in mourning, and that mourning garb is black and blue. About his left arm ... I hate it! I'm proud of the right though. And the background was going to be the Tree of Life after he's had a go at it, but I changed it to a wasteland. Er ... and the handle of the scythe was cut from the Tree of Life. *phew*

His sythe is really really cool is easily my favorite part of the pic. I allways throught it whould be funny for death to be hard of hearing you know like a death death..... just me then Oonagh R. McAreavy replies: "reads comment a few times with slight frown "Death death"? And why am I not surprised that the weapon is your favourite part? lol! I always think of Death as very patient, but not in a predatory way. More of a philosophical way. "

I don't know, Oonagh R. McAreavy replies: "Possibly, Pinky, possibly. I always look at it and flinch - it looks withered or twisted or something."
15 Jun 2005	Flamepoint	Loading... good picture, i really like the background but the dude's a little out of proportion. I agree with the arm thing but i think his waist is too narrow for his shoulders. People always rake me on proportion so i only try to help others. Good pic tho!!! Oonagh R. McAreavy replies: "I hadn't actually noticed his waist ... but now that you mention it... Aw, phooey. Now I hate the pic even more."
