SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Octavo

This is my version of the Octavo - I read the description in 'The Light Fantastic' by Terry Pratchett and just had to try my hand at it. My favourite part was drawing the lectern, because he was wonderfully vague about it ('carved into the shape of a bird - well, to be frank, into the shape of a winged thing it is probably best not to examine too closely') so I could go for 'bird-demon'.

Terry Pratchett books are the best i've been trying to convince everyone i know to read them (i have in fact just finshed the light fantastic although intersting times is my fav) This is how i whould imagine it i think you got the bird right i imagined it to be some sort of demon bird although i imagined it whould be staring at anyone who looks at it. Thanks for commenting on my gallery again carn't wait for dec when you update.

Hehe, I just finished that book and I was looking for pictures so I found yours. The pic is cool! I love Terry Pratchett's books (I haven't read so much of his books, but oh well...) They're so funny! I laughed my head off because of that strange suitcase thingy, really...

1 Oonagh R. McAreavy replies: "The Luggage! (Always with a capital L, mind you. People need to hear it slot into place in front of the rest of the name) Otherwise known as Trunkie (read The Last Continent. You'll understand.) Thank you for commenting, please come again."
